This is a Fictional Story About How Mike Dillard Changed My Life in Bora Bora.
It’s 3pm on Friday afternoon, in the dead middle of winter, and I’m in beautiful Bora Bora. I just flew in as an invited guest of Mike Dillard, all expenses paid. I was the random winner of his affiliate contest and I couldn’t believe that I actually won. I didn’t even sell any of his products and here I was the winner. I couldn’t even sell one Magnetic Sponsoring or Building on a Budget course. How pathetic was I?
Meanwhile internet marketing rockstars like Norbert, Brian, Todd, Ray, Ferny, David, Cedrick, Tracey and the list goes on were completely ticked off at me because they sold like a million of Mike’s courses, but they had to pay to hang in Bora Bora with Mike. I got to leech off him for free. I felt their eyes burning holes into me when I got to the resort.
I felt like a jerk but I wasn’t going to let it get me down. I just got lucky because I knew that if Mike ran the contest for top affiliate instead of a random drawing, I wouldn’t have stood a chance against these guys.
At around 5pm, I started to get all excited because in a couple of hours I was going to meet the internet marketing king (Mike Dillard) at a big dinner that he was planning for all of his affiliates. I was giddy like a little school girl. I couldn’t wait to tell him how much I loved him and how awesome he was.
Cedrick saw how much I was bugging out and in his usual cool demeanor told me to “just relax.”
At 7pm I was standing in line with all the top internet marketers in the world and I was feeling a little awkward. I admired these guys and followed everything they wrote on Better Networker and here they were starting and laughing at me because of the way I was dressed.
“What’s wrong with what I’m wearing”, I thought. I was only dressed in my I Love Better Networker t-shirt, MLM Traffic formula jacket, MLSP Rocks button, SEO Networker hat, Viral URL shorts, and Google Adwords socks.
And to make it all worse, Tracey was filming how silly that I looked and was going to post it on her kick butt blog.
I thought that if I promoted all of my affiliate links on my clothes, someone would purchase some of these products from me. Boy did I look stupid. I guess I should have read Magnetic Sponsoring.
It’s was now around 8pm and the legend Mike Dillard had finally arrived.
Look it’s Mike Dillard, I screamed. I started to run up to him but was immediately tackled by the karate kids themselves Ray and Ferny.
“It’s okay, let him up”, Mike Dillard said. “He’s just a little over excited.”
“Gee, Thanks a lot Mike.” I said.
The room was now silent and everyone was staring and what just went down.
“Remember when all of you first got started in network marketing?” Mike said. “You were excited and naïve just like this guy here. The excitement felt great didn’t it?
Your results stunk though, until you learned what I had to teach you. Now look at all of you. Look at how successful you are now.”
“Lucien is just like you were in the beginning, Mike Dillard said. He just needs some help.”
“We need to teach him how to become an attraction marketing expert. His hearts in the right place but I think he took the concept of attraction marketing too literally with these clothes, though.” Mike Dillard laughed. (Everyone in the room burst into laughter.)
The rest of the week in Bora Bora was absolutely life changing. Guys like David taught me how to have a dynamic personality and become an article marketing expert. Jim taught me how to use facebook to generate leads for free. Tracey taught me how to look good on Youtube and also showed me how to create a kick butt blog. Ray and Ferny taught me seo techniques on how to make my blog and content show all over Google, and Cedrick taught me how to be cool like him and learn to just relax.
Norbert, Brian and Todd added the icing on the cake by teaching me how to market my business and brand myself on the internet with My Lead System Pro. They showed me how to take all of the techniques that the leaders taught me during the week and implement them with their simple system.
Best of all, I got to spend a lot of time with Mike Dillard during my trip. I told him that I was thankful for everything that he’d done for me and that he’s single handedly changed the network marketing industry as we know it forever.
I gave him a big hug and told him that I wanted to “Be Like Mike Dillard.”
*This story was complete fiction, which means that it’s not real (Lol!). It was just a lame attempt at humor. It was meant to be a thank you to what the top leaders in this industry have taught me over the years. I’ve learned a lot from these leaders and wanted them to know how much that I appreciate them.
