Whether you’ve been in the network marketing industry for years or you’re a new network marketer, there are several different ways that you can build a  business. You can contact your friends and family, cold contact people at the mall or gas stations, or you could use the internet to build your business.

If you have a lot of credibility with your friends and family, then you might become a successful network marketer using this route.  What will your prospects do though? Do they have the same credibility with their friends and family that you do with yours? If not, then how will you help them duplicate the same success that you’ve had?

Another route that you could go in as a network marketer is to cold contact people at the mall, gas stations, or book stores. You may be a sharp person that could sponsor a lot of people this way, but can you help your prospects duplicate the same success? Are they as sharp as you?

The problem with contacting friends and family and cold contacting people about a network marketing business is that these people are usually the wrong audience to pitch a business to.

The typical response that most people get when pitching a business to their friends and family is not favorable, and cold contacting people is just plain cheesy.

Most network marketers today are being taught to talk to unqualified prospects. This is the reason why 97% of people end up failing in network marketing. They are talking to the wrong audience.

Your target audience should be existing network marketers, or people that are looking to become involved in a home based business. The reason why they should be your target audience is because they don’t have to be sold on the concept of becoming an entrepreneur.

So where do you find this target audience of existing network marketers and people looking to become involved in the industry?

You’ll find this target audience on the Internet, if done properly.

I’m not talking about pitching your business as a network marketer on Twitter, Facebook, Myspace or spamming everyone on the internet.

I’m talking about finding the millions of people that are searching the internet everyday for exactly what you are selling and giving it to them.

That’s right. They are looking for what you’ve got.

Here’s the key that you don’t want to miss.

There are a ton of people searching the internet every day looking to become a network marketer. You just need to get to these prospects before your competitors do.

I encourage you to go to Google right now, do a search for network marketer and see what results come back.

Look at all the ads, articles, and videos of your competitors competing for your prospects.

There’s a big target audience on the Internet.

So what are you going to do? Are you going to build a business using old marketing techniques, or are you going to learn how to use the internet to explode your business and become a rock star network marketer?
